What to Expect

Islands in the river separate the put in site (at Canal Rd) from the main channel of the river. Rocky Shoals Spider Lilies may be seen at Courtney Island, which begins two miles downstream from the put in and extends for about one mile. The river left (east) side channel of Courtney Island contains several smaller islands and channels to explore.

Access Details

Lansford Canal State Park has two road entrances and two access points to the river. This trip starts at the lower (South) park entrance at Canal Road from a river access site at the end of Canal Road.

Highway 9 Landing
Access Details

Take out at SC Hwy 9 (Lancaster Highway) Bridge on the east bank. The road leading from Hwy 9 to the boat landing is Nectar Road.
