This section of the Twelve Mile River begins on Town Creek and is very short. There is a high chance for woody debris in this section; paddlers should use caution and avoid strainers at all times. This stretch is narrow but scenic and beginner friendly.
River access and parking are located upstream river-left. Limited roadside parking is available along Shady Grove Road. Please park along the road and do not block driveways. This access is unofficial. Use at your own risk.
River access is located along the grassy clearing, south of the entrance, river-left. Also available are restrooms, lighted parking lots, and covered picnic areas.
